On a cold Sunday afternoon, Life is Awesome was booked for Baby Photo shoot with little Lilly. We prepared by lighting up all the heaters we could find to make the room a comfy environment for an 8 week old girl. Luckily Lilly warmed to our hospitality …eventually.
I must say that I do think Lilly has a little crush on Christiaan…
Life is Awesome’s phone rang on Monday morning with an excited yet panicked client on the line. She was ecstatic because she was invited to the Annual Spier Bridal Fair, but also panicked because she had no website, nor photos of her portfolio….

The Life is Awesome team enjoyed this photo shoot tremendously. Their is nothing like crisp early morning air in the winter. As we where planing the shoot the week ahead, we where stuck on a different theme and it just didn’t seem to snap all together. I was walking in the mall when inspiration struck me out of no where. “We should celebrate winter!” I said out load. And that is exactly what we did. I quickly changed the colours, ordered a winter bouquet and it all came together. We had a fabulous couple to shoot with, Braam Viljoen and Celeste Bernardo. Celeste is a caring, beautiful and a inspiring woman. Braam is fun, entertaining and a very down to earth kind of guy. Thank you to Braam and Celeste for being a great couple to photograph. This shoot taught us about going with your gut and finding a theme the couple is comfortable with.

On Saturday 14 May the Life is Awesome team got up before sunrise to get ready for a couple shoot. The weather created an unpleasant surprise with heavily overcast and misty conditions, even though we checked several weather websites in the previous week and all predicted “Sunny!” However we managed with strong gold reflectors. We photographed Pieter Avenant and Kimi McGregor. Kimi is fun and exuberant and quite mischievous! Pieter is a charming romantic with an easy confidence. We thought the vintage sentimental look suited the couple. Thank you to Pieter and Kimi for being a great couple to photograph. This shoot taught us about being prepared for any kind of weather.
